Psychotherapy for artists

Dynamic conversation for creative growth

As an experienced, accredited psychotherapist I work with emerging and established artists (in any creative field) who want to increase their confidence, authenticity, productivity and flow.

I support those who want to bring individuality to their work, break free of difficulties and limitations, or who recognise that a curious conversation with the self is an invaluable way to challenge and enrich a creative practice.

It may be that you struggle with issues such as structuring time, justifying your practice, self-criticism, finding inspiration or managing the pressures of making money from your work. It may be that a life crisis or difficult situation has had a negative impact on your creativity. It may be that you want to gain a new sense of direction, authenticity or excitement about your work.

I offer warm, dynamic conversation helping you get perspective on how you relate to the world, understanding of your formative history, and the support to transform unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaviour into more satisfying ones.

I qualified in 2014 from a five-year humanistic training with Spectrum Therapy, London and have been in private practice for ten years. I’m accredited with the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). I gained accreditation as a coach with the Cultural Leadership Programme in 2008 and trained as an action learning set facilitator with Action Learning Associates. Prior to that I worked for many years as a teacher, consultant and researcher on creativity and arts education.

Sessions take place online (Zoom) or at my practice room in Bridport, and can be scheduled at intervals that suit your needs. I can also offer ‘studio sessions’ at your place of work. Fees start at £75.00 per session.

As well as working one-to-one, I also work with partnerships and collaborations where emotional or relational difficulties are hindering creative flow.

I offer a free 20 minute conversation prior to a first session to assess whether we’re a good ‘fit’. Do contact me for further information.
